Baby Huey & The Baby Sitters. WMG Warner Chappell, LatinAutor - Warner Chappell, LatinAutor, BMI - Broadcast Music Inc. It was put together and released in 1971 after his death. The title refers to the legend of Baby Huey that survives after his death. Baby Huey was in the midst of recording tracks for his debut album when he died as a result of a heart attack in 1970. Some time lapsed before his manager Marv Stuart aka Marv Heiman and Curtis Mayfield took what had already been recorded, added some instrumental. The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend - Baby Huey. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Baby Huey nee James Ramey, the 400-pound soul shouter whose resounding baritone had defined the Babysitters sound, had died over a year earlier. To those involved in the album's creation, Living Legends commercial failure must have seemed a particularly abject coda to Hueys short and tragic life. Baby Huey's only album, released after his untimely death, is titled The Living Legend with good reason. Beyond his unusual appearance, though, he was graced with a stunning, fierce voice on par with Otis Redding and Howard Tate, wailing and howling one moment and oddly tender and sentimental. Complétez votre collection Baby a frontman, Baby Huey was talented, flamboyant, and enormous- anywhere from 350-400 pounds, topped off by a giant afro. Unfortunately, Huey died of a heart attack at 26 in 1970, and never saw his debut album released the following year. Since then, Living Legend has remained an obscurity, though its songs have long been embraced by hip-hop, having been sampled by everyone from Kool Herc to Eric B and Rakim to Ghostface. This Water Records reissue keeps the album's original running order intact, and adds no extras. Baby Huey. Released February 1, 1971. The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend Tracklist. Listen to Me Lyrics. The album posthumously released after Hueys death in 1970. Despite the title describing Huey as a Living Legend, he was deceased before the album was released. The album was produced by Soul legend Curtis Mayfield and features Hueys backing band The Babysitters. The album went on to become a cult favorite, especially among Hip-Hop producers, with the most famous song Hard Times being sampled by multiple different artists. The album, in its physical form, is very rare, with original vinyl pressings going for upwards of 100 USD. Review Summary: An album not without its flaws, The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend has enough strengths to have stood the test of time, in spite of the fact that it's the bands only release. If you're a fan of hip-hop, chances are you know Baby Huey. You may not realize it, but you do. Despite only recording one album before succumbing to a drug-related heart attack at the age of 26, Baby Huey born James Ramney helped influence the future of psychedelic soul and funk, as well as having a small part in the birth of hip-hop. Ramney got his start with under the title B. Listen free to Baby Huey The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend Listen To Me, Mama Get Yourself Together and more. 8 tracks 40:33

Venezuelan press from 1982 is a thrifty (and all analog) alternative to the more expensive early pressings. More recent pressings don't hold a candle to this.
Haha yeah, looking for a good copy of this without loosing an arm/leg. Hearing this repressed sounds like shite, straight up. All these "remastered" pieces of shit thrown through digital filters are actively ruining music. When analog producing dies out... oh im not wanting to see this day
