No Geography is the ninth studio album by The Chemical Brothers. It is scheduled to be released on 12 April 2019. The first single, Free Yourself, was released in 28 September 2018, with MAH Mad as Hell following in 7 January 2019. On 1 February they released the third single, Got to Keep On. To sow that spirit of experimentalism into their ninth album, the pair exhumed the old samplers they used to make their first two albums. Выделяются No geography, The universe sent me очень интересная вещь, да и синглы просто супер: free yourself, mad as hell, weve got to try, очень и очень сильная работа. The molecular structure of the Chemical Brothers various albums has typically taken one of two forms: brash, psychedelic odysseys in retro rave, or scattered forays into pop-rock and hip-hop assisted by aging rappers, wispy folkies, and Brit-rock flavors of the month from back when NME was still in print. No Geography, the duos ninth full-length, is their most party-hardy album since the millennium-flattening swarm of Surrender. Not as exploratory or insular as their other 2010s output, No Geography is a steady, no-frills mix that focuses more on clever samples than guest vocals and festival-sized body-rocking. Standing out atop the pack, the singles are the best moments on the album

The cover image is taken directly from a page in the booklet of Godley & Creme's 1977 album Consequences. The face half-hidden in the clouds is a reference to the face on the front cover of that album. There are many album covers that reference or reinterpret images from other existing covers, but "No Geography" is unique in that it takes an image wholesale from another record and does nothing interesting with it. The fact that the cloud face references the G&C album is an additional layer of inappropriateness. This rehash, or direct reuse, demonstrates how short of ideas Rowlands and Simons are.
Excellent album in terms of the music quality and the pressing is fantastic - very dynamic and the bass is just right. Well worth the money spent.
After so many years of listening to The Chemical Brothers they never cease to amaze me. Amazing album start to finish, a must have for anyone born with the ability to hear.
excellent album, I recommend the Japanese CD for the extra tracks - especially Fantai
Awesome album and flawless pressing. This record just keeps on giving.
Outstanding album and pressing. This may just be my own personal album of the year 2019, but we'll see. Probably my favourite Chemical Brothers album now. Also, have you seen the videos for these tunes? So creative. Love these guys.
This moment you notice the cloud face on the cover for the first time
You realize, yes, that the cover image is taken directly from the booklet of the Godley & Creme album "Consequences", and that the cloud face refers to that album's cover?
Thank youi would never have noticed it . . .
They still got, absolute legends. Pressing sounds fantastic as well.

Astonishing, amazing album - front to back. This will be a classic
Amazing album, i've never been so surprised with one of their album since "we are the night". A pure Chemical Brothers feeling, mixing funk, rock, noisy techno synths and beautifiul vocals. My new favourite album, maybe their best!
Guys!!! This is huge!!! I just got slapped in the face '' Tex Avery'' style. How can they deliver such a great album so many years after. these guys have so well digested the music that came after them and still are inspired! I love electronic music for this... They are reinventing themthelves once again... Brilliant.
Уou ll never walk alone
Tuna - Go away you silly person! Your passive-agressive comments indicate YOUR age also - negatively. As you said, if something doesn't fit your taste, then just avoid them. As my comment is not any of your concern or business and you're not a moderator, butt out mate!
Electronic music??? Pfff!!! Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Larry Fast - THAT'S electronic music. These 'johnny-come-latelys' are not fit to lick the boots of the aforementioned artists (and many many other pioneers of the genre - Wendy Carlos anyone?) and any bedroom geek can bang out a 'choon' with some free 2 bit software on their laptop these days.Just because they use some synths, doesn't automatically make their music electronic. I mean, even Chris de Burgh (are you old enough to know who he is? I'm betting you're not...) uses synths - but you wouldn't call his music electronic by any stretch of the imagination.
Does anyone know why the retail price on this record is so high?
long live the Chemical Brothers! ...such consistency across their output (especially if you consider 'unpredictable' as a trait of theirs).... how lucky we are to have them:) No Geography would be a nice album to candy-flip to. look forward to getting it on wax:D
No complaints on the pressing quality. Sounds NICE! The vinyl is clean flat and quiet. Another excellent album from the Chemical Brothers. These dudes keep kicking sonic ass! Love them. The cover is very cool. Bring it on!
Outstanding album! Maybe their best work since "Come With Us" imho... "Surrender" even!
Only really like the first 2 tracks and the Prodigy ‘poison’ ripoff that is ‘we’ve got to try’. I much prefer ‘hey boy hey girl’ to ‘free yourself’. The rest of this album is very so-so. Back to listening to Exit Planet Dust it is then. Interestingly, of my 33 favourite individual Chems tracks (includes eps & bsides), just 3 are from post Push The Button era. I enjoyed We Are The Night as an entire album experience but there are no stand-outs. So Tom & Ed, that's now the last 4 albums of nothing much to write home about...
Who gives a shit if they're older, peak after their thirties or producing classics... You sound like all the idiots talking about producers making 'bangers'' for God's sake. Its also people like YOU who drove the Chemical Brothers almost away FOREVER. I can also bet you're the life of all the parties.
Don't really see the comparison between Poison and We've Got To Try. Maybe with the bassline, I guess, but both bands have been doing basslines like that since the mid-90s.
Sorry, but most of the tunes here just aren’t very good - they’ve done better b-sides. The sad thing is that the older artists get, the worse they get - no high horse, just reality. Very few peak after their thirties. It’s far from rubbish, but not a classic by any stretch.
The real question is why are you still comparing their new stuff with stuff 20+ years ago? Evolution through artistry is a thin line that seems a lot of people just aren't 'willing' to accept anymore and that's sad. They aren't the same people they were then and sure as shit have explored whatever music realms they want. To discourage this is... again, sad. To me, this album is a pretty in-depth piece that touches on SOOOO much they've done over the years. It sounds absolutely amazing on a hifi system too. Some really brilliant ideas, production, and dynamics on this one. To discredit it and just keep comparing to their old stuff is pretty narrow minded IMO. And as far as calling "we've got to try" a Prodigy ripoff of Poison, that's laughable... My suggestion, get off your high horse, open your mind, and forget everything you use to know about the Chemical Brothers and their 'sound'.
This album is FANTASTIC. Great pressing too. A must own for anyone with a hi-fi system.
The most coherent Chemical Brothers album for years. And properly sequenced. Intelligent dance influenced electronic music, that although unlikely to be remembered as a classic, makes sense
There are "[thanks] to Kevin Godley for the cover image concept" on the inlay. So I don't think it's a rippage but licensed usage.
The front cover image was sourced from the Godley & Creme album "Consequences".
Enjoyed listening to this, very good pressing quality and a nice hint to Kraftwerk's Autobahn on front cover as well ;-)!
A strong first half, opening with "Eve of Destruction" and "Bango," a pair of high-energy tracks that play to the Chems' strengths: infectious bass lines, creative sampling and hard-hitting beats that nonetheless retain a playful bounce. Things really start to shine after this however, when the title track kicks in for a sparkling disco love-letter that is frankly over far too soon — a brief, but glorious dose of uplifting sounds taken from the "Star Guitar"/"Sunshine Underground" mould. Other highlights include followup "Got to Keep On" (which prolongs the disco vibe with chiming bells and evocative samples), "Gravity Drops" (one of the duo's better contemplative, downtempo numbers in a while), and late-album banger "MAH," which, with its pulsing beat, amusing titular sample and wild, multi-layered synths throbbing into eternity, frankly rescues the second half of this good if not excellent album.
